Sharon Fairchild Obituary

Sharon Fairchild
December 27, 2025
WATERTOWN- On Saturday, December 27, 2025, Sharon Ann (Carey) Fairchild, 72, left this earth as gently as she lived on it. She was a woman of great kindness and joy.
Born July 4th, 1953, Sharon was the daughter of the late Robert and Eleanor (Schram) Carey. She was a long time resident of the Waterbury/Watertown area. Sharon was married to Fred Fairchild for 28 years and the devoted mother to her three sons, Richard Reilly of Newtown, Robert Reilly of Milford and David Cemola of Watertown. She was the dotting grandmother to Kyle, Sean, and Sullivan.
Sharon held several positions throughout her life. It wasn't until she became a Certified Nursing Assistant that she found her true calling. She shared her kindness freely with her patients. She segued to private home care and family members of her patients remained in touch years after she left their service. A true testament to her character.
Along with her husband, sons and grandchildren Sharon is survived by her brothers Doug Carey (Martin) of Southbury and Shawn (Shari) of Stratford, many nephews and a niece.
She was predeceased by her brother Robert and her sister Betty Ann.
In a world where kindness is a rare commodity, take a moment to reach out to loved ones, old friends, and total strangers. Let them know they are loved.
At the request of the family, all services will be private. Hickcox Funeral home as been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
