Sherman Weigold
11/18/2025
Sherman Lewis Weigold, 76, of Torrington, CT, passed away on November 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born and raised on the same road he would call home for his entire life, Sherman was deeply rooted in the land, community, and traditions he cherished. A lifelong dairy farmer, he devoted himself to the farm with a level of commitment few could match. He poured his heart into caring for his animals, tending his fields, and honoring the work passed down through generations. Farming wasn't just his occupation; it was part of who he was.
More than anything, Sherman devoted his life to raising his family. His greatest pride was being a husband, father, and grandfather. He worked tirelessly to provide for them and leave them with the values that shaped his own life: hard work, honesty, strength, and respect for the land.
Sherman found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved taking Sunday drives in his Mustang Cobra, enjoying the open road. He spent many peaceful hours fishing down in the brook. In his early years, Sherman completed the New York Marathon twice, one of many ways his determination and inner strength shone through. He also enjoyed hiking and camping, always appreciating the beauty and stillness of the outdoors.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, AnnaMae Weigold. He leaves behind his son, Karl Weigold, and Karl's children, Ava and Everett; and his daughter, Amy Drown, and her husband, Eric, along with their children, Hudson and Wayland-who brought light and joy to his days.
Sherman was preceded in spirit by his parents, Hudson and Doris Weigold and the generations of family who lived and worked the same land before him.
Sherman will be remembered for his unwavering strength, his passion for farming, his extraordinary work ethic, and the deep love he carried for his family. His legacy lives on in the land he tended and the family he raised.
