Stephen V. Kenny, 70, of Middlebury, entered the gates of Heaven on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury with his family by his side.
Stephen was born on February 18, 1955, in Waterbury, CT, a son of the late Robert T. and Claire (Bernier) Kenny, Sr. He was a graduate of Holy Cross High School and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Religious Studies from Stonehill College. He dedicated his life to God and the Church. For many years, Stephen worked as a Catholic Youth Religion Instructor for the Archdiocese of Hartford. He was an usher at St. John of the Cross Church in Middlebury. He was proud to have been a Sergeant and Trombonist for the 2nd Company of the Governor's Footguard. He was a Lifetime Member of the American Federation of Musicians.
Stephen is survived by his brothers, Robert T. Kenny, Jr. of Waterbury, CT, Daniel Kenny and his wife, Josie of Southbury, CT, niece, Lori (Bryan) Conetta, nephews, Michael (Jamie) Kenny and Michael Taylor and great-nieces, Meghan and Allison Kenny. Stephen also leaves his cousins and many friends.
Arrangements: Stephen's funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT to St. John of the Cross Church, Midd-South Catholic, Middlebury, CT Campus for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday evening, October 20, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
