Watertown, CT: Thomas F. Moriarty, 77, a former long-time resident of Holyoke, MA, died August 29, 2025, at his home in Watertown.
Tom was born September 23,1947, in Northampton, MA, son of the late Daniel and Irene (Barnes) Moriarty. He lived in Holyoke for most of his life and
graduated from Holyoke Catholic High School. Tom worked at Mt. Tom Reservation for several years and then transferred his time to become a Correctional Officer at the Hampden County Sheriff's Department until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Katherine (Cox) Moriarty of Watertown, his daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Joshua Makarewicz, and beloved granddaughters, Eleanor and Rosemary, all of Watertown.
He also leaves his brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Ellen Moriarty of South Hadley, MA, his sister, Ellen Cox of Pleasantville, TN, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Susan Moriarty, and brother-in-law, Gary Cox.
Funeral Services are private. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown, is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to The Sisters of St. Joseph, 577 Carew St., Springfield, MA.

Dear Kathy and Heather,
We were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of your husband and father, Tom.. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. There are no words that can truly ease the pain of losing someone so dear, but we hope you find comfort in the love that surrounds you and the memories that will forever live in your heart.
Tommy´s presence was a gift to all who knew them-kind, generous, and full of quiet strength. Though he may be gone from sight, his spirit remains woven into the lives they touched.
May you find peace in the days ahead, and please reach out if there is anything we can do.
