Dillon LaMothe Obituary

Dillon Scott LaMothe of Loveland Colorado passed away in his hometown on August 14th, 2021. Dillon was a bright light in the lives of so many people and he will be deeply missed. Dillon was born in Fort Collins, CO on August 9, 1995. He graduated from Mountain View High School before moving to Steamboat Springs to work and enjoy the mountains he loved full time. Dillon was a phenomenal athlete, and his skill was never more apparent than when he was on his snowboard doing flips and twists down the slope. Dillon settled back down in Loveland in 2018 and started work as a technician at Ball Aerospace in Boulder, CO. He loved his job, but more than anything loved the people he worked with and the friendships he developed there. His summer weekends were spent at the lake - whether it was surfing or fishing he loved being on the water with those he treasured most in the world. Dillon never met a stranger, had a hug which made you feel like the most special person in the world, and had a smile and a laugh which was contagious. He will stay forever strong in our memories until we meet again. Dillon is survived by his mother Maryann (John Peden), his father Damon (Sandy) sister Lindsay (Peter Kitzen) brother Nicholas, grandparents David and Sandi, uncles Jim Jares (Roxanna) and John Jares (Karen), cousins Jimmy, Kevin, Paola, Ricky, Annie and Jack, step siblings Jack, Sammie, Alex, and Samantha, girlfriend Jessica Reed-Baum, and Clark his loyal four-legged companion. Dillon made lifelong friends everywhere he ventured which is a testament to his character and lovable personality, and they will miss him dearly. A Celebration of Life will be held in Loveland at Foundations Church on September 4th at 10 AM. Family and friends are welcome to a gathering with refreshments in the foyer immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Chill Foundation - Denver. The family of Dillon wishes to thank their family and friends for their unlimited and unconditional support - we are blessed.

We offer our sympathies to all family members on Dillon´s passing away at such a young age. We knew him from his school days at St. John´s, and he was always such a nice young man. He was a Cub Scout with Pack 81, and we have many fun memories of him participating and enjoying himself. I remember his sense of fun, his bright smile, and his pride of wearing the Scout uniform. The years went by quickly, and the young boys grew up, graduated, and began their adult lives. We are so sad to hear of his passing away, and we will always remember him as the handsome little blonde haired boy with a love of life, family, and community.
