Oh dear Fred,we loved you.You were Lionel's drumming mentor. The perfect, calm, ever patient match for Lionel. You gave up your Sanger matinee ticket to be sure Lionel would be able to drum in the Push Mow Parade.I cried such tears of joy to see and hear Lionel rounding the corner but when I saw Fred at Lionel's side ,knowing that he had plans elsewhere, I could barely contain myself.Thank you Fred for being there for all of us.

I'm sorry to hear of Fred's passing. I enjoyed his company a few years back on a motorcycle tour of the Ecuadorian Andes.

So sorry to hear this sad news. Fred was in our 1970 training for the US Peace Corps in Melville, Montana before we served in the Peace Corps in Ecuador. Fred did some amazing things and will be missed.

Elaine sounds like you had a gem of a husband not everyone can be like that or talk about like that, a rare person to find and an absolute pleasure to keep even though I´ve never met him I can see him in your words what a wonderful person he was and a joy to be around.

One of the most beautiful obituaries I have ever read. He was surely a special man.

As I am sure many others do, I cry each time of think of Fred no longer being of this world. I had the privilege of knowing his man for many, many years, as he was the husband of my very oldest friend. I loved him not just because of the man he was but because he made Elaine so very happy ... he completed her in ways that are so rarely encountered. His obituary is not an exaggeration, if anything, it is a bit understated (as he would prefer). I loved him and will miss him with all my heart. The world is just a little darker without his light shining, although I know it is shining on all of from above now.
