Gavin John-Walter Myers, beloved son of Eric and Melissa Myers, passed into eternal life on June 8, 2018, as a result of a tragic accident. Gavin loved life and especially the outdoors. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing and was involved in football, baseball, lacrosse, and swimming during his young life. He also wrestled and swam for Lucille Erwin Middle School. His latest love was scootering (scootin') with his Loveland friends and especially his best friend and cousin, Eli. As a family they spent several days in the mountains skiing during the winter months and on their boat at Horsetooth Reservoir during the summer. Gavin was a very caring and compassionate young man especially with those in need of help and assistance. He loved snuggling with Bella (his Golden Retriever bestie) who he took on walks to the dog park and even taught her to hold her own leash. Gavin is survived by his parents; older sister Ashley; younger brother Kaden; grandparents John and Colleen Myers of Dubuque, Iowa and Cathy Myers (deceased), Walter and Margie Krawczuk of Loveland, and great-grandma, Doris Reddin of Dubuque, Iowa. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved and cherished him dearly. Viewing will be held at Viegut Funeral Home at 1616 N. Lincoln Ave in Loveland, CO on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 4pm-7pm, cremation will be completed after viewing. Memorial Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish at 1730 W. 12th St. in Loveland, CO on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 10:00am with a reception following Mass in St. John's Hall. Please join the family in the celebration of Gavin's Life and his new journey ahead. Gavin was a good friend his crazy antiques made me and many of his friends laugh and to know that I could pay my respects cause I was in mexico all I want to say is he is in a better place a better one and I wish I was a better friend to him and could see him one last time

Eric and Melissa: I went on John's Facebook and wanted to let you know he died on March 9, 2018 and discovered that your sweet Gavin had passed tragically. I had read it in the paper but did not put it together till now. I am so sorry to learn this. Losing a child tears you up no matter how old they are. I hope some kind of peace has come to you. I really feel that John was there to help your Gavin cross over. Eric, you were John's best friend in his adult life and I am so sad there was a parting of that friendship. As John got sicker the harder it was to deal with him for all of us. I just want you to know he always wanted to make amends but he was just too ill to figure out how. Peace to you and your family.

Hello. I just found out about Gavin's death. My 13 year old daughter was in many of his classes in elementary school. I volunteered at the Ponderosa Elementary. I remember him because he actually stood up demonstrating courage when my Daughter was being bullied. She cried when hearing the news. we will miss him.

Very sorry, for those who knew Gavin personally. I knew Gavin back in 1st grade in a elementary school in Loveland. I was shocked to hear the news when he died. My condolences to his friends and family.
