Janice Lara

1946 - 2016

Janice Elaine Lara entered into eternal rest on Saturday September 10, 2016 at the age of 69. She was born on November 2, 1946 in Greeley, Colorado to Edward and Ida (Ulrich) Knaub. Janice spent her childhood in the Milliken/Johnstown area and lived in Berthoud for 33 years before moving to Phoenix, Arizona where she owned her own janitorial / house cleaning company for 16 years. She moved back to Loveland, Colorado in December 2014 where she lived until her passing. Janice was a generous, spiritual, loving, hardworking woman who was always available to family and friends to lend a helping hand or offer helpful advice. She had a passion for gardening and was well known for her bountiful harvests of extraordinary vegetables. Janice always had an immaculate yard with a lawn like a plush carpet and vibrant flower beds. She was also an avid runner having competed in numerous road races including marathons, half marathons and countless races of shorter distances. She was preceded in death by her parents. She survived by sons Gregory and wife Julie Lara San Antonio, Texas, Joshua and wife Misty Lara Johnstown, Colorado; 5 grandchildren Sonja and Ryan Lara Fort Collins, Colorado, Darian and Jadyn Lara and Casey Murphy all of Johnstown, Colorado; stepmother Janice Knaub, Milliken, Colorado; sisters Sandra and husband Harold Plude, Centennial, Colorado, Marilyn and husband Robert Cash, Greeley, Colorado. All are welcome to attend an open house celebrating Janice's fulfilling life on November 12, 2016 from 11:00am to 2:00pm at the Berthoud Area Community & Senior Center, 248 Welch Ave. In lieu of flowers, friends may desire to contribute to the American Lung Association. Janice's love for her family and friends was immense and she will truly be missed. Go in peace Janice, you will live in our hearts forever.
