Letha Markham

1925 - 2021

died June 16, 2021, at North Shore Health and Rehab facility. She was born September 21, 1925, in Littleton, Colorado to Grace (Haynes) and David Traver. Survivors include sons Paul, Neil (Vivian McCarthy), and daughter Grace (Donald DeGroat). Also Kathleen (Gath) Markham. Seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Markham, and her brother, Loran Traver. Letha graduated from Littleton High School. She earned a. BA in business from University of Denver and a MRE from Drew University in New Jersey. She taught business courses, shorthand and typing at several colleges. She also worked as a secretary for the American Diabetes Association in Denver and several businesses. Letha enjoyed researching her genealogy and qualified to be a member of the Namaqua chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. She lived a Christian life. She was active in United Methodist Women throughout her life. She loved collecting cookbooks from all over the country and loved trying new recipes. She also enjoyed reading and sewing. She was a prolific letter-writer to her friends and family, and enjoyed sharing many memories of (then) small-town Littleton and Denver. A memorial service is scheduled at First United Methodist Church, Loveland Colorado on Sunday, August 15 at 2 pm.
