Barbara Lou Gibbs, 73, passed from this life on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Homestead Nursing Center in Baird, TX. She was born on August 26, 1943 in Corpus Christi, TX to Eugene Ferk and Alice (Rocheski) Ferk. She was a resident of Baird for over 29 years.
Barbara was a wonderful wife who cherished her family. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Lindon Gibbs on December 29, 1961 in Corpus Christi and together they started a beautiful family. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Kenneth Lindon Gibbs of Baird, TX; son, Ken Gibbs, Jr. and wife Theresa of Baird; daughter, Kimberly Robertson Culwell and husband Larry of San Antonio, TX; four grandchildren, Amber Ray, Courtney Downing, Cody Gibbs and Dakota Gibbs; 9 great grandchildren; one brother, James Hopkins of Center Point, TX; half-brother, Tommy Ferk of Corpus Christi, TX; two sisters, Kathy Babb of Del Rio, TX and Shirley Ferk of Sister Dale, TX; numerous nieces, nephews and many great friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM, Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Parker Funeral Home Chapel in Baird, TX. Brother Daniel Palacio will officiate services. Viewing will be privately held. Barbara's wishes were to be cremated following services.
Memorials in Barbara's honor can be made to Hendrick Hospice Care at 1682 Hickory Street Abilene, Texas 79601 or charity of choice.
