Barry Scott Obituary
Mulberry Canyon, TX
Barry Doyle Scott, 74, died Monday, June 2, 2014 at his home in Mulberry Canyon. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 5th at Pioneer Memorial United Methodist Church with Pastor Richard Petree officiating. Burial will be in White Church Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Barry was born November 2, 1939 in Mulberry Canyon to Mabel (Butman) and A.D. Scott. He married Monette Woodard July 13, 1973 in Ardmore, OK. He was a member of Pioneer Memorial United Methodist Church. Barry graduated from Merkel High School in 1958 where he played baseball and football. He also attended Texas Tech University. He was a farmer and rancher who raised cattle and sheep. Barry loved to hunt and play dominoes especially 42. He also enjoyed hunting/collecting arrowheads and fossils.
Survivors include his wife, Monette Scott of Mulberry Canyon; daughters, Holly Hall and husband Joe of Abilene, Carolyn Sims and husband Wayne of Eula, Kelly Mesey of Abilene, Amy Crockett and husband Reu of Austin; son, Daniel Scott and wife Uli of Washington state; sister, Aleta Alexander and husband J.D. of Mulberry Canyon; brothers, Payton Scott and wife Johnnie of Rising Star, David Scott and wife Jean of Mulberry Canyon; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and three on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Cynthia Ann.

I met Barry just a few times over the years but I am saddened to learn of his passing as he was a good friend to my ‘little' brother, Forrest. I am sure that Barry will always be missed-- just as Forrest is.
