Benjamin Higgins, 95, died Sunday, June 13, 2011 at Anson General Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Fenwick officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Adams-Graham Funeral Home.
Born May 9, 1916, in Bradshaw, Ben was a son of the late John and Emma (Adkinson) Higgins. He was a pumper in the oil field business and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Ben was the widower of Pauline Higgins and Inez Garrett. In 1990, Ben married Millicent Allen Beasley in Anson.
Ben was preceded in death by three brothers, five sisters and a stepson (Gregory Beasley).
Survivors include his wife, Millicent Higgins of Anson; three daughters, Dorthey Kreger of San Antonio, Helen Radde of Sterling City and Linda Adkins of Breckenridge; two step children, David Beasley and Rhonda Fritsch; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and six great great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their special thanks to Dr. Kapu and his staff and to Valley view Nursing home for their special care.
Family visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Adams-Graham Funeral Home, 732 Ave. I in Anson.
