I will never forget the kindness and support that Mr. Adelman always showed to Sunny Hill Nursing Home. He was a great man who took time to place the needs of the community's elderly above what so many times was difficult and not popular decision. He continued to ensure that our legacy will be how we treat the poor, the sick, the weak and the vulnerable. Thank you for sharing him with us! You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dearest Marge, I wanted to add some thoughts to those I mentioned at the service. I considered it a true honor to know Chuck. The time we spent on the cruise with both of you already 12 years ago, the dinner after dinner of laughter, bring a smile to my heart. The hours he spent helping me with paperwork for the sale of our home in California and all the occasions of just chatting. He will be missed by so many, but truely by you and the family....how lucky all of you were to be loved & cherished by such a great guy. As I have believed for so many years after loosing my parents.....He's not Dead, He's just Away (Helen Steiner Rice), a poem that took me through many hard days. Smile as you treasure all the beautiful memories and a lifetime of love...you have so much to remember and smile about.

With love and prayers,
Pat (McNelis) Schader

Chuck was such an integral part of my familys life for so long there isnt enough space here to tell it all. He kept my dads cars running. He sold me my first car. He gave my brother his first job and taught him how to be a machanic. He was President of the All-Star Handicappers bowling league at Sn'S for 10 years with my dad as secretary, and then another 10 with me as secretary. He never met a mans chest that he couldnt poke a fingertip through(ouch),and he was the happiest,
funniest guy I ever knew. At a Sox game no matter where you sat you would know if he was there within an inning, because he would have everyone in his section laughing from his humor,
and when my dad retired and moved to Vegas Chuck was his first house guest.
The world is a less happier place for the passing of Chuck Adelman. We can only pray that we will see more men like him. God love you Chuck. And God bless the Adelman family and grant them peace.

I lived at St. Dennis Convent for 11 years at the time S. Ann Kevin was Principal. I was S. Michaeleen at the time and felt Chuck's support for the Montessori class I was starting. The Sisters relied on Chuck for help with our cars whenever we needed it. We saw him frequently at Mass and all Parish functions with Marge. They were real friends to all the Sisters. We will pray for Chuck and the whole family.

Dear Marge and family, Today my heart morns for the loss of this wonderful man. My thoughts and prayers are deeply with you. Such a friend of the common man, woman, and children such as like I personally had never seen and never will. The out pouring of love and affection from Chuck to all that lost everything during the disaster of the the Plainfield tornado was beyond reproach. If not for this loyal friend I would have never had the opportunity to build a home and take care of my mother and sisters.

My friend always used his heart first, not just his political skills to help a citizen of Will County. I feel so privileged to say I worked for and befriended a truly great man of the people. The many memories filled with fun and laughter. Asking me with that warm smile if my parents had any children that lived while playing cards in the Bear Mobile with 19 other friends busting out laughing. Watching him filled with joy while playing the organ at Christmas. Putting his arm around my shoulder after another lost year of my beloved Cubs. I shall hold close to my heart. This snip it of fond memories and friendship I will never forget.

Though saddened with tears in my eyes by the loss of this fine gentleman and friend this day I will keep a smile on my face even after I get off at the train station of life. I just know Chuck will be there to greet me with a smile, a joke, and a Chicago Bears hat. God bless Charles R. Adelman.

Chuck was a great example of what a husband and father should be. Those many years ago @ St. Dennis I recall he set the tone for many of us future parents to follow. I have taken more from his example than I ever told him or thanked him for. So I telling you all. My thoughts and prayers are with each one of you.

Marge & family, My deepest sympathy & prayers are with you all. Chuck was an outstanding man & dear friend. He was always so kind to Ed, Jerry & me. I remember all the times he sponsored me in our mission "walks" for First Apostolic Church & his visits to different church services. It meant a lot to us. I believe he even came for Ed's blueberry pancakes there, too! May God comfort each of you in the days & months ahead with many good memories of a precious man!
