Cherry Bishop Obituary

Cherry Bishop

Humble, TX

On June 12, 2018 at 11:11 Cherry Lynn Reinert Bishop, 63, of Humble, TX, took the hand of her love and went home. A Visitation will be held Tuesday June 19, from 6-8pm at the Abilene Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday June 20, at the Hawley Cemetery

Cherry was born to Oueida N. Price and Herman E. Reinert on August 4, 1954 in San Diego CA. The family moved back to Abilene, TX in 1957. Cherry enjoyed working with friends and family at Bingo Tacos in 1971, her junior year of high school. Shortly after graduation from Abilene High School, she married the love of her life Lester Paul Bishop August 5, 1972.

Cherry also worked for Camelot Apts and Timex while in Abilene. She later worked for Shaw Jeweler's in San Antonio. Over time she went to work for Stewart and Stevenson in Houston. The company transferred her and Paul to Utah then back to Houston where she lived out her last days.

Gardening was one of her loves. She enjoyed being outside tending to her yards. Cherry also enjoyed old movies and crafts.

Paul and Cherry were not able to have children of their own. Many thought of her as "Mother" over the years including her 14 nieces and nephews and countless great and great-great nieces and nephews. Keeping her busy was her crazy, spoiled bird, Pretty Baby. Many hours were spent training and cuddling her sweet companion.

Preceding her in death was her love of 40 years Lester Paul Bishop, her father Herman E. Reinert, 2 siblings James Daniel Reinert, and Micki Manzo.

Cherry is survived by her mother Oueida Price, sisters Dianne E. Fears and husband Richard of Clyde, Carolyn Hurdley of Austin, Rebecca R. Turner and husband Daniel of Abilene. Her brothers Herman E Reinert II, and David A. Reinert and wife Brandi both of Abilene. Sister-in-law Robbie and Gary Richardson of Abilene. After losing her 5 year battle with cancer, we take comfort in knowing she is finally holding hands with Paul again.
