Dorothy Jean Cooks

Munday

Dorothy Jean Cooks, 69, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at her home in Munday. Dorothy was born March 28, 1944 in Ennis, TX to Dan and Amie Taylor. She and Charlie Cooks were married January 11, 1977 in Knox City. She was a caregiver and loved helping people.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Amie Taylor; and three brothers, Robert Taylor, Eugene Taylor, and Billy Ray Taylor, Sr.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Charlie Cooks of Munday; two sons, Paul Wright of Stamford and Ryan Wright of Abilene; one daughter, Youlanda Hunter of Abilene; two brothers, Raymond Taylor of Sweetwater, and Paul Taylor of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Mae Jewel Burrell of Dallas and Katie Sanders of Abilene. Also, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 6 PM, Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the funeral home. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Munday at 10AM, Friday, August 9, 2013. Burial will follow in Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of McCauley-Smith Funeral Home of Munday.
