George Alvin Chastain, 94, passed away at Sweetwater Health Care. Funeral Services will be Friday, December 5, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Rev. Jake Wade will be officiating service. Military Graveside rites will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 5:30 P.M. until 6:30 P.M. at McCoy Funeral Home. George was survived by Daughters: Frances Brown and husband Roland of Sweetwater and Linda Lightfoot and husband Robert of Vernon, Son: George Don Chastain and wife Becky of Georgetown,TX, 8 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife: Frances Modene Barnes Chastain, Father:George Hubert Chastain, and Mother: Willie Mae Davis.
George was born to parents George Hubert and Willie Mae Chastain on August 11, 1920 in Ovalo,TX. George married Frances M Barnes on December 23, 1939 in Merkel. George was a member of Highland Heights Methodist Church. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked as a craftsman around Sweetwater area.
Pallbearers will be: Brent Lightfoot, Charles Lightfoot, Scott Chastain, John Pelath, David Pinkerton, Jeremy Edmiston. All arrangements are under the care and direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater. Online condolences may be made at mccoyfh.com

Uncle Alvin will be missed by all. He always made you feel welcome and a part of the the Family. His sense of humour was always refreshing. God rest his sole. Sorry I was unable to attend the funeral.
