Gustavo Quiroz Obituary

Gustavo "Dido" Ray Quiroz

Abilene, TX

Gustavo "Dido" Ray Quiroz, 46, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Friday, July 1, 2016 at St. Francis Catholic Church, 826 Cottonwood Street, with Father Bhaskar Morugudi officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery, 5750 Hwy 277 South, directed by Abilene Funeral Home.

Mr. Quiroz was born June 15, 1970, in Coleman, TX to Gustavo Q. and Isabel Diaz Quiroz. Gus was raised and lived in Abilene all his life. "Dido" was fierce, strong and a little crazy at times, but most of all, he was a kind loving son, brother, father and friend. No matter the situation, "Dido" always had a smile on his face. When he had his Harley Davidson, he enjoyed taking long rides and being free. Gus loved being with his family and listening to his rock and South Park Mexican music. He will be truly missed by everyone and will be kept in our hearts and thoughts always and forever.

" A limb has fallen from the tree that says grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the songs, the life I lived while I was strong".

Survivors include his parents, Gustavo Q. and Isabel Diaz Quiroz of Abilene; a son, Braye Quiroz of Abilene; two daughters, Leigha Marderosian (Justin) of Abilene and Jaysa Hansen (Joshua) of Abilene; his paternal grandmother, Cruz Quiroz of Coleman; the mother of his children, Bridgitte Turnbow; two brothers, Harvey Quiroz (Belinda) of Lubbock and Samuel Quiroz (Michelle) of Abilene; a sister, Rose Del Rio (Albert Castillo) of Abilene; his grandchildren, Exavien Quiroz, Elijiah Quiroz, Braxton Hansen, Chasity Hansen, Brooklynn Quiroz and Dowlin Marderosian, all of Abilene; special nieces and nephews, Leslie Marie Quiroz, Jessica Quiroz, Samuel "J.R." Quiroz and Isaiah Quiroz and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Quiroz was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Pedro and Dominga Diaz; and his maternal grandfather, Jesus Ramos.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday with praying of the rosary starting at 6:30 PM, followed by wake at 7:00 PM at the Northwest Church of Christ Chapel, 1141 N. Willis Street.

Honored to be pallbearers include Harvey Quiroz, Samuel Quiroz, Chris Espitia, Raymond Sandoval, Pete Diaz and Ray Vera.
