Gwendolyn Stevenson Obituary
ABILENE, TX
Gwendolyn Hope Stevenson, 59, went to be with the our Lord and Savior with loving family at her side on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at a local hospice facility. Funeral service will be 10:00AM, Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 North 12th Street, with Pastor Todd Forrest officiating. Burial will follow at Abilene Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Abilene Funeral Home.
Gwen was born July 12, 1958, in Abilene, Texas to Burrell and Victoria Stevenson. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at the age of 13. Gwen graduated from Cooper High School and attended Hardin Simmons University. At age 12, she had surgery for a brain tumor that left her disabled. Her disability could never take away her mind, soul, or her caring heart.
Survivors include her mother, Victoria Stevenson; her sisters, Sandra (Bill) Knauf and Nita (Bart) Collins; as well as several nieces, nephew, her care giver and close friend of 13 years, Jean French.
Miss. Stevenson was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father, Burrell Stevenson.

I lived down the street from her for many years. She was one of the kindest people i met in school. When she became ill it broke my heart. But as often as i could i would go visit or ask her parents about her. She was truly an angle.
