Homer David Everton
Haskell

On February 7, 2012, Homer David Everton of Haskell, Texas went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was 67 years old.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Rochester Cemetery in Rochester with Bro. J.C. Amburn and Mr. David Washer officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes of Haskell. Visitation is planned for Thursday evening, February 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Haskell.
David was born in Hamlin, Texas on August 30, 1944 to Cyrus and Myrtle Everton. He grew up in Hamlin and later moved to Haskell with his three children in the early 80's. He enjoyed bar-be-queing, boating and especially fishing and spending time with his family. He was well known by many for his kindness and ability to make people laugh with his jokes.
David is survived by his wife, Charlotte Everton of Haskell; two daughters, Tammy Everton McKnight and her husband Travis of Ventura, CA along with their son, Gabriel Mendoza; and Schriee Everton Kushaney and her husband Chris of Cedar Park, TX and their children, Audriana, Cortney, JonMarc, and Kinley; his son, Sherwin David Everton and wife Amanda of The Woodlands, TX and their sons, Dalton and Bryce; his step-daughters, Pam Ashbrook, and her children, Chris, Jason, and Victoria; Becky Proctor and her children Kristin, Jessie, Shauntel and Joshua; Deanna Ashbrook and her children Alexi and Jeremy; Julie Ashbrook and her daughter Carissa; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Merrell Everton; his parents, Cyrus and Myrtle Everton; 3 brothers, Carrol, Freddie, and Clayton Everton; and his sister, Doris Davis.
If desired, contributions can be made in David's name to the American Heart Association.

Harold, I believe I remember you and was a close friend to my dad. If my memory serves me corretly you had a special CB handle that my dad always joked about. If not...my apolgies! Thanks for you kind thoughts of my daddy!

David was a good friend even though at times we did not see eye to eye on some things. We both worked at Paint Creek Power station for WTU on the same shift for years, he was a good boiler fireman, and Aux Operator. He will be missed. Jesse J. Medford Haskell Texas.
