Jay Winston Holland, 68, of Abilene passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Services will be held Friday at 1:30 P.M. in the Logsdon Chapel at Hardin-Simmons University 2200 Hickory St., with Pastor Jeff Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of North's Funeral Home.

Jay was born on November 29, 1948 in Memphis, Texas to William and Mary Sue (Eddins) Holland.

He moved to Abilene in 1974, to work at West Texas Rehabilitation Center. During the course of his thirty-two years he served the center as Director of Audiology, Director of Treatment Services, Interim President, Director of Operations and Vice President of Development. He then served Abilene Diagnostic Clinic as the Director of both the Center for Pain Management and the Out-patient Surgery Center before joining his wife Sue Ann at Holland Hearing Center where they worked together through January of this year. He served on the Board of Directors of the Better Business Bureau, Disability Resources Inc. and Global Samaritan Resources.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his Mother-in-law, Jane S Mussell; and Father-in-law, Dr. Joseph R. Mussell.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Ann of the home; his daughter, Ashley Tompkins and husband, John of Abilene; two grandsons: Jason Holland and Evan Hurst of Abilene; sister

Sarah Holland Long and her husband Melvin. Brothers; Richard Holland and wife, Margie, and Jon Mark Holland and wife, Lori. Brother-in-law Joseph Robert Mussell, Jr. and wife, Glenda, Stephen C. Mussell and wife, Bernadette. Sister-in-law Jennifer Mussell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, and a host of family and friends.

Serving as Pallbearers will be, Jason Holland, Evan Hurst, Jason Acevedo, John Berry, Al Dos Santos, Mike Tschaar, Gary Walker.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers, Gene Bruce, Jon Mark Holland, Richard Holland, Melvin Long, Jay Mussell, Stephen Mussell, Bill Robertson, Jim Washburn, Bob Wood and Mike Wood.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the following organizations: Global Samaritan Resources, Disability Resources Inc. and the West Texas Rehabilitation Center.
