Jesse Williams Obituary
ABILENE, TX
Jesse B. "Black Diamond" Williams passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Hendrick Hospice Care in Abilene. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at 1:00PM at Valley View Baptist Church, with burial to follow at the Abilene City Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday at Valley View Baptist Church from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
Jesse B. was born October 2, 1939, to Emmitt Lee and Lillian Williams in Madisonville, TX. He was the second of eleven children. The family moved from Madisonville to Abilene while he was very young. There he attended both Woodson Schools.
He was employed by Martin Sprocket and Gear until he retired in the early 2000s. He was a avid landscaper to which he kept a beautiful yard to show for. He married Birdie Jones in 1978, and to that union, a son, Jessie Jr., was born and raised along with his other brothers: Carl Robinson, Daryl Jones; sisters: Vicki Jones, Teresa Jones, Mary Jones, and Camile Fields. A lover of fashion and music, he was the laughter of any party, young and old.
He is survived by his mother, Lillian Williams, and three children: Dennis Francis of Arlington, Eva Nell Coffield of Grand Prairie, and Jesse Jr. (Paula) Williams of Abilene; two brothers; Milan Bill Williams Sr. (Altus) of Grand Prairie, Donald Williams of Fort Worth; and three sisters: Lillian Nell Tate of Baltimore, Thelma Webber and Carla Elamin both of Abilene.
He was preceded in death by his father, Emmitt Sr., three brother: Emmitt Jr., Verlie Williams, El Williams, and two sisters: Ida Bell and Beatrice McDow.
