Jimmy Sinclair Obituary

Jimmy Sinclair

Dallas, TX

On February 1, 2019, Jimmy Sinclair passed away at the age of 57 from complications from Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS). He is survived by his wife, Heather Sinclair, and their two daughters, Avery and Ellery of Dallas, his mother, Yvonne Sinclair of Abilene, his brother, Jerry Sinclair and wife Liz of Abilene, and his niece, Katherine Kinnaman and husband Andrew of Abilene and niece Elizabeth "Libby" Sinclair of Fort Worth. He is also survived by his aunt Patsy Yarborough and husband Lynn of Midland, aunt Jean Inman and husband Wayne of Sherman, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Haskell Sinclair.

Jimmy Ray Sinclair was born in Abilene on August 30, 1961. Jimmy graduated from Abilene High School in 1980 and from Abilene Christian University in 1984. He was a lifelong fan of the Washington Redskins and L.A. Dodgers, and was able to attend the World Series in 2017. He worked as a Regional Operations Director for the Houlihan's restaurant chain. He was also co-owner of the restaurant-bar Lee Harvey's in Dallas, TX. He married Heather Collins Sinclair on November 14, 2015. Jimmy was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS) in October 2016. He has given his body to science for continued research into a cure for the disease.

Jimmy had a certain charisma about him that attracted people to his wit and charm, especially with that smirk he always wore. He was caring, loving, positive, inclusive and fiercely loyal to everyone he knew. He expressed once during a visit with a friend "I'm glad I got ALS because I met Jesus." We would like to thank all of Jimmy's friends and family who have spent countless hours visiting, sending food, helping financially, and loving Jimmy and Heather through this difficult season.

A memorial for Jimmy will take place at Seth Smith's Studio at 1817 Clarence St., Dallas on February 17th at 3:00. After the memorial, we will continue to honor Jimmy at Lee Harvey's, 1807 Gould, Dallas.

I didn't have the chance to meet Mr. Jimmy in life but I followed his story online, lord knows I wanted to meet him, since my beloved mother in law lose the fight to Als a little over a year ago, it was very hard.I'm very proud of his wife and family to stand strong in such very hard times and to show loyalty even in the hardest times, a covenant that was not easily broken, and provided help. True love.I hear so many stories about the teachings and lifes Mr. Jimmy touched with his talents and kindness because that's how I knew about him, and wanted to meet him in person...Nobody wants to be sick of a terrible sickness, nobody wants to see a loving family member suffering a disease but only God knows every plan and every Victory, I'm very sure Mr Jimmy's legacy is going to be well reminded by his daughters and wife... and his family in earth will remember that he is free of pain and sickness in heaven, because Jesus touched his heart and the skies recovered an angel.

Yvonne and family, Hold tight to your memories of Jimmy. Reading your beautiful tribute to his short life reminded me of distinct qualities and interests of Jimmy's that classmates and coworkers (AHS '80 and Towne Crier) will long remember. Peace.
