Joe L. Wilson, 81, of Winters, died February 2, 2018. He was born October 8, 1936 in Oakhurst, Texas. He grew up in Pasadena, Texas and graduated from high chool there. He married Sylvia Denson Isbell April 4, 1969 in Houston. He worked for Petro Tex in Houston for 20 years before going on the road, working power plants throughout the world. He and his family moved to Winters in 1974. He was a member of the Wingate Baptist Church. After retirement he worked for the Texas Baptist Men's Association as a builder.
He is survived by his wife: Sylvia Wilson of Winters. 5 children: Sherrie Wilson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Josh Isbell of Wilmeth, Texas, Jace Isbell and wife Tresa of Dunbury, Texas, Joel Wilson and wife Joann of Houston, Texas and Jeree Story and husband Tony of Pearland, Texas. 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 6:00PM Tuesday February 6, 2018 at Winters Funeral Home. Services will be at 2:00PM Wednesday February 7, 2018 at Wingate Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Winters directed by Winters Funeral Home.
The family request memorials be made to the Wingate Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
