In the short time I knew John not only did I have a co-worker at the Abilene SOP that i respected, I also had a good friend that i will truly miss. We both shared a devotion to Duty, God, and Country. Our prayers are with his family. God Bless you John, and Thanks for your service to the United States of America.

I've known John since high school. When he came back from boot camp all those years ago, I was amazed at the changes. He grew up in those six weeks. He walked taller, spoke kinder, and loved his country. He kept those qualities the rest of his days. I saw him off and on at various gatherings over the past 30 years and kept up with him through mutual friends. We spent time together at his 20 year high school reunion where he shared some of his experiences while at war in the Middle East. His pride in his namesake son was so evident. Little John, and Paula: my prayer is that your memories of John help sustain you right now Heaven has a new soldier in its elite guard. In deepest sympathy,

To Paula and Family,
Words cannot properly express the depths of our feelings for John and for your loss, but please allow me to try...
We are grateful that John served his country for many years in the U.S. Armed Forces, and served his God by caring for and honoring his father, mother, son and family until the end. My wife and I are grateful for John's friendship over the years, and for knowing that with John we had someone we could count on, always, no matter what.
We love you and will miss you Litch....Your service to God and Country, your friendship, and your loving spirit towards me and my entire family will not be forgotten.
Rest in peace brother, rest in peace.
Love Always,
Your Friends Mark and C.J. Pyburn

To Johns Family:
Over the last few years, John worked on equipment for us. Every time we needed something he was right there. He was a gentleman and hard worker. We at Willis Supply Company are extremely sorry for your loss of such a fine man.
