Juanita Garcia Obituary
Abilene, TX
Juanita H. Garcia, 78, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015 at a local hospital with her loving family at her side. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 837 Jeanette Street, with Monsignor Robert Bush officiating. Burial will follow at Abilene Municipal Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home.
Ms. Garcia was born May 26, 1937, in Abilene, Texas to Juan R. and Paula Holguin Garcia. Juanita was a loving and caring person that was always helping someone. She was also very independent and her grandchildren meant everything to her.
Survivors include two brothers, Jose Maria Garcia (Irene Moreno) and Elias Garcia, all of Abilene; two sisters, Antonia Esparza and Pauline Garcia both of Abilene; She did not have children of her own but she raised a niece, Teresa Garcia, just like a daughter. Juanita then considered Teresa's children just like her grandchildren. Which include Laura Renea Gilbert, Maria "Jenni" Rivas and Joel Andrew Perez, all of Abilene. They had eight children between the three that she called her great grandchildren.
Ms. Garcia was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Andres H. Garcia, Martin H. Garcia and Vicente H. Garcia; two sisters, Emilia and Maria Lopez
The family will receive friends at Abilene Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2015, with praying of the rosary starting at 6:00 p.m.
