Lezli Williams Meers, age 57 of Munday, Tx, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016. Lezli was born May 28, 1959 to Tommy and Kay Williams in Friona, Tx. Lezli graduated from Bovina High School in 1977 and moved to Lubbock, Tx. In Lubbock, she attended Lubbock School of Vocational Nursing and obtained her LVN degree in 1979. She then moved to Munday, Tx in 1980 where she made her home and had two children: Toni and Trent Tidwell.
Lezli loved nursing and had a passion for learning and eventually went back to school to obtain her RN. She graduated from Vernon College with her Associates Degree in nursing in 1998. Lezli had a very successful career in nursing, and dedicated her life to those in need. She worked as the Director of Nursing at Throckmorton Nursing Center for 8 years, as the school nurse for Knox County and as Assistant Director of Nursing at Munday Nursing Center where she worked until the end of her life.
Lezli married Todd Meers March 20, 2004 in Munday, Texas. In 2013, they became co-owners and co-operators of the small business Meers Mercantile.
Lezli was lovingly known as "Ammie" by her grandchildren. She loved playing with her grandchildren, caring for her pets, and 'piddling' in her yard. Lezli was a member of First Baptist Church in Munday.
Lezli is survived by her husband, Todd of Munday; one daughter, Toni of Fort Worth; one son, Trent and wife Lisa of Munday; 3 grandchildren, Colton, Tivy, and Tahlia of Munday; parents Tommy and Kay Williams of Bovina; and one sister, Kathy Rundell and husband Kim of Lubbock.
Lezli expressed that she did not want any of her friends or family to have to fight the battle she fought with cancer. Please honor her by getting recommended cancer screenings and always acknowledging the gift of health.
Services were held at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 16, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Munday under the direction of McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Cancer Services Network in Abilene, Texas.
