M. LaRue Reeves
Munday

M. LaRue Reeves passed away on Nov 24, 2010 at Munday, TX. Mrs. Reeves was born in Gilliland, TX in 1925. Her funeral is 10:30 a.m. Nov 27, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Munday, TX. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Gilliland Cemetery, Gilliland, TX. under the direction of McCauley-Smith Funeral Home in Munday, Texas. She graduated from Truscott High School in 1942 and enrolled at North Texas State College and graduated in 1945 with a Home Making Degree in all levels in Education. She later received her Master's in Guidance and Counseling in 1978 from Hardin Simmons University and became School Counselor for the Knox County Schools. She retired after 26 years in education and was an active member of the Knox County Teachers Association, Guidance and Counselor Association and Texas State Teachers Association. She was a 25 year plus member of the Beta Chi Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International for Teachers. She served as President and as Chairman on many committees. Her first teaching opportunity was at Rochester, TX. While at Rochester she met the love of her life Arnold Reeves and they married in 1946. He preceded her in death in 2003. They celebrated 56 years of marriage. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gilliland and Munday for many years where she sang in the choir and was a Sunday School teacher. She is survived by one sister, Valarie Kinnibrugh of Abilene and one brother Dwight E. Burgess and wife Lavita of Weinert, TX. Mrs. Reeves has three sons; Dwight Reeves and his wife Donna of Decatur, TX, Randy Reeves and his wife Barbara of Marietta, OK, and Lyndle Reeves and his wife Jeannette of Munday, TX. She has 6 grandchildren and 5 great grand children plus numerous nieces and nephews.

We express our condolences and may God bless your family. We only heard the news last evening or we would have come to the service that morning. LaRue and Arnold meant so much to our famiy. We love you and hold you in our prayers.
