Robert Leon Pruser, 86, of Winters passed away Friday, January 4, 2019. He was born September 2, 1932 in Winters to George and Myrtle Pruser. He grew up in Winters and remained here for all but 2 years of his life, when he joined the army during the Korean Conflict. He married Janice Frick on January 16, 1967 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Winters. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he served on the council and various other church committees. He was a lifelong farmer who was known by all for his selfless acts of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Pruser, Sr. and Myrtle Pruser, and his brother, George W Pruser, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janice Pruser of Winters; 2 children: John Roger Pruser and wife Melody of Dallas, and Leslie Rene Duggan and husband Will of Winters; and 4 grandchildren: Robert Pruser of Austin, Samantha Pruser of Dallas, Hunter and Rider Duggan of Winters.

The family will receive friends at Winters Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2019 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at the Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Winters Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank Carolyn Belk, Freda Gibbs, and George Belk for their wonderful friendship and care. They would also like to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and EMTs at North Runnels Hospital and Kindred Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Kindred Hospice.
