KENNETH SERVOS Obituary

KENNETH SERVOS Kenneth "Ken" LeRoy Servos, age 83, of Fontana, Kansas passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025, in Overland Park, Kansas. He was the first born of four children, at home in rural Paola, Kansas on September 15, 1942, to Roy LaVern Servos and Dorothy Adelene Loch-Servos. Ken's growing up years was somewhat unusual in that he never started and finished a year in the same school until his senior year. He graduated from Centreville High School in Centreville, Maryland in 1960. Ken joined the US Navy, January 30, 1961 and was honorably discharged on January 30, 1965, as a Petty Officer 3rd Class. He spent most of his enlistment assigned to DASA (Defense Atomic Support Agency) in the desert, not far from Las Vegas, NV. Moving as much as Ken did, he never put down much for roots. The one permanent place in his life was at his Grandparents farm west of Osawatomie, Kansas. His grandparents John and Florence Loch, who were very important people in his life, from whom he learned very much. They were the one constant in his life. After his discharge from the USN he returned to their farm for a visit and ended up staying there until he met his wife to be, Peggy J. Sharp, whom he courted until she caught him and they were married in a small family ceremony in Paola, Kansas September 3, 1965. Ken had some basic values and beliefs that he was raised with and never wavered from during his life. He was taught and believed that every person was responsible and accountable for their own actions. He also was interested in history and direction that the United States has taken since 1776. He was a strong supporter and believer in the USA Constitution; you could usually always find a small, condensed copy in his shirt pocket that he carried with him. He always looked for the good in a person or situation, believing that the old saying of "it's an ill wind that doesn't blow some good" applied most of the time and always had a positive outlook on life. Ken enjoyed family, the outdoors, hunting, shooting, and reading. He enjoyed life and looked for the good rather than the bad. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Donald W. Servos, John E. Servos, one sister Myrna Kay McMurray, and one-half sister Vicki S. Davis. He is survived by his wife of 60yrs Peggy, a daughter Kendra J. Thompson (Jerry), a son Wesley "Wes" A. Servos (Nichole), two granddaughters Paige R. Ledom (Max), Samantha N. McBride (Sean), and one-half sister Patricia A. Asad. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
