LEWIS "TOM" CODDINGTON 12/26/1943 - 6/15/2025 Paola: Lewis Thomas (Tom) Coddington, 81, of Paola, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025. Tom was born in Garnett, Kansas, at Dr. Carter's Hospital on December 26th, 1943, to Ernest and Lois Coddington. He was raised on Coddington's Dairy Farm where chores before and after school were a way of life. As a young boy, Tom grew to love horses. Horses would become the first and forever love of his life along with his family and friends. In 1964, Tom married Peggy Taylor and soon after became a father, first to Justin and 2 years later to Cindy. Tom and Peggy divorced in 1977. Tom married Tina LaPlant on May 5th of 1988. Their blended families made a home in Paola, Kansas. They were married for 39 years. In the early 90's Tom earned a certificate in equine dentistry. He served a four state area including Kansas until his retirement. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lois Coddington, brothers, Ernie, Dick, and Jim. He is survived by his brother, Bill Coddington, wife, Tina, children, Justin Coddington and wife Terry, Cindy Coddington Detwiler and husband Todd, and Mac Hill and wife Brenda, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
