Keith Zollinger Obituary
He married Ann Broy Porter on Oct. 23, 1946, in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was the first bishop of the Rexburg Eighth Ward where he served for 10 years. He served a church mission to Bern, Switzerland as a young man.
He was called during World War II to OSS (Office of Strategic Service) in the army where he served for one year and later went to Officer Candidate School and became an officer in the quartermaster corps in Europe until the end of the war. He was best known as the "singing dentist" in Rexburg from 1950 to 1980. He was a lifetime Rotarian and served on the Madison Memorial Hospital Board for 22 years. He was also a member of the Rexburg Planning and Zoning Commission. Born into a family of carpenters, his hobbies included general carpentry, furniture building and picture framing.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Porter Zollinger of Rexburg; children Keith A. (Jann) Zollinger of Pocatello, Joseph P. (Robin) Zollinger of Canoga Park, Calif., Laurel (Dale) Harris of Sandy, Utah, Mary Ann (Glenn) Mounts of Rexburg, Lindsay P. (Neva) Zollinger of Phoeniz, Ariz., Stephen P. (Cari) Zollinger of Rexburg, and David P. (Anna) Zollinger of Salt Lake City; a brother, Dean W. (Larena) Zollinger of Salem; 23 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Vern W. Zollinger, Charles W. Zollinger and Joseph W. Zollinger; and a sister, Raya Zollinger Lewis.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at the Rexburg LDS North stake center (314 E. Second North) with Bishop Jerry Virgin officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Tuesday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. prior to services at the stake center. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery with military rites by the Madison County Veterans Team.

Ann, Ralph and I spend our winters in St. George so often miss things we would like to attend if we were home. So sorry we will be unable to express our sympathy to you and your family in person. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
I think the last time we saw Keith was when we were in your home regarding a picture of the old Walters home on the north highway. Not only were you able to help identify the picture but we had a very enjoyable visit with you and Keith. Thank you both for being our friends through the years.

Emily and I wanted to express our deepest sympathies to you and Cari and all your family. I was priviledged to meet your father back in the summer of '77--he made such an impact on so many of us within the community and this hospital by making them better. Even so, I can't come close to appreciating the great personal loss this is to your and your close family and friends.
May your collective faith and many great memories of your father be a strengthening, uplifting force, Stephen.
