Krystle Smith Obituary

Krystle Ellen Murdock Smith, 46, of Boise, passed away Aug. 27, 2010, at her home in Boise after battling cancer for nearly two years.
Krystle was born March 14, 1964, in Rexburg to Cal and Karen Murdock. She grew up in Sugar City and in Lyman, just south of Rexburg. She graduated from Madison High School in 1982 and from Ricks College with a nursing degree in 1986. She worked as a registered nurse for 20 years in general patient care, the intensive care nursery and home health services.
She married Kevin Smith of Rexburg on July 8, 1983, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They have four children, Jared, Alex, Brittney and Courtney. Krystle enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and the outdoors. She supported her children in every activity they participated in, from athletics to music.
Krystle was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in several callings in the ward and was a faithful visiting teacher. Her greatest love was for the Primary, where she served for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin Smith of Boise; children Jared (Amber) of Provo, Utah, Alex of Provo, Utah, Brittney (Phillip) Blad of Logan, Utah, and Courtney of Boise; father, Cal Murdock of Rexburg; brother Clay (Dena) Murdock of San Miguel, Calif.; and sisters, Kaylene (Mark) Merrill of Diamond Bar, Calif., Kimberly (Craig) Hatch of Tooele, Utah, and Kallie (Rob) Neick of Logan, Utah.

It was such a privilege to have associated with Krystle. I will always remember the dedication and hard work she put towards the cub scout program in our ward. I was honored to be able to serve with her. She taught me more than just cub scouts, she taught me how to be a mother, a wife and to always put family first. Her testimony will forever be remembered. Her voice and smile I can still replay in my mind. I will miss her dearly. I look forward to seeing her again. We love you Krystle and we love your family and are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Love, The Christian Family

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Krystle. I had her in my home ec. classes at Madison Jr. High many years ago. She was one of my very favorite students! She was such a wonderful person and student. She was so fun to be around. I really loved her. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I pray you may have peace and comfort in the days and weeks ahead.

Krystle was such an example of loving unconditionally. What a great friend. She always had so much love and concern for others. I remember her always asking about how our girls were doing at BYU-I and taking stuff to them for me. She even took Heather to lunch one time while she was in Rexburg because Heather was having a bad day. She always looked out for my girls. She always was concerned about others. We will miss her smiling face. I am so glad that we had the opportunity to know her in this earthly life, and look forward to seeing her again someday. Our prayers are for your family, you are all amazing, stay strong, she will be watching over each of you!

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Krystle. I attended Madison High School with Krystle and graduated the same year. She was always a very kind and caring person. I always thought of her as a "classy" down to earth friend. My thoughts and prayers are with Kevin and your family!
