Larry Samuelson Obituary

Larry Floyd Samuelson, 71, of Rigby, died May 17, 2009, at Madison Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 7, 1938, in Pocatello, to Avla Floyd Samuelson, and Elva Rebecca Porter Samuelson. He was raised and attended schools in Pocatello, St. George, Utah, and Hurricane, Utah. On Jan. 12, 1961, he married Myla Gay Casper, in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. Together they lived in Menan, Rexburg, Pocatello and Rigby. 
He worked for Golden Valley Packers as a hide puller, as a laborer in various potato warehouses and he manufactured wood burning stoves and hearths. He helped remove railroad spurs between Menan and Egin. He also helped to remodel the YMCA in Pocatello.
Larry was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He enjoyed fishing and watching John Wayne movies. 
He is survived by his wife, Myla Samuelson of Rigby; daughters Sarah (Fred) Hayes of Ontario, N.Y., and Larrynda Samuelson of Rigby; sons Thomas Samuelson, of Rigby and Steven Samuelson, of Pendleton, Ore.; sisters Ruth (John) Hudach of Hubbard, Ohio, Jean Brooks, of Layton, Utah, Marian (Ted) Hughs, of Hawthorne, Nev., and Raleen Ames of Pocatello; brothers Duane (Darlene) Samuelson of McCammon, LeeRoy (Sharon) Samuelson of Huntsville, Ala.; one grandson and three granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Kenneth.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2009, at the Rigby East Stake Center, 4021 E. 300 North. The family will visit with friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday prior to services at the stake center. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.eckersellfuneralhome.com
