Michael Packer Obituary

Michael Scott Packer, 24, died on May 24, 2008, from an injury sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was born Oct. 4, 1983, in Rexburg to Scott and Robin Packer.
When Michael was 2 weeks old, the family moved to Pocatello to start a business. Michael graduated from Highland High School and played on the tennis and golf teams. He was a four-year seminary graduate and served in the Colorado Springs, Colo. mission.
Following his mission, he attended Idaho State University and was in his senior year of business management and was working at Mountain West Suzuki as general manager. He married the love of his life, Wendy Miller, on Dec. 16, 2006, in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Wendy is the daughter of Merlin and Yvette Miller of Chubbuck. Almost from birth, Michael had a love and passion for drag racing and won many races in the Intermountain West, both in cars and on motorcycles. He was a man of integrity and loved his family and friends.
He is survived by his sweet wife, Wendy; parents Scott and Robin Packer; brother J.D. (James Don) Packer; grandparents Don and Linda Packer of Idaho Falls and Roger and Elna Sullivan of Rexburg. We would like to express our extreme gratitude for the love and support of wonderful friends and caring family.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the 52nd LDS Ward Chapel (4010 Hawthorne in Pocatello) with Bishop Brett Mower officiating. The family will receive friends on May 28, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. in Pocatello, and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Funeral arrangement are under the direction of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel.

Robin, Scott, and J.D.-We just recently heard about your great loss, we are so sorry, and can only imagine how you must be feeling. Here is a scripture that has helped us remember part of the Savior's mission and that death is only part of our life here on earth. "There is a ressurection, therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ." Mosiah 16:8 We love you both and please do not hesitate to call or write us. Love, Jared, Cynthia, and Sabrynna Carter

Scott,
We go back many years when Michel was very small at Firebird Raceway, watching you race along side our son, Darin.
