Alice June (Miller), Chavez, Yamashita born July 22, 1933 in Long Island, New York and passed away October 8, 2014 in Reno, Nevada at the age of 81. Alice was preceded by Charles Miller, brother Harold Miller, sister Jacqueline Miller-Minor of Brentwood, New York. Alice moved to Reno in the early 60's, she married Saul Chavez in 1965 and later divorced in 1972. She worked at Harold's Club for several years. She later moved to Hawaii, married Edward Yamashita of Hawaii in 1977. She later returned to Reno in 1986 to care for he ill father. She continued to work in the Gaming Industry at Harrah's and Baldini's casino. Alice is survived by her loving husband Edward Yamashita of Hawaii, stepdaughter Loretta ( Chavez ) Vervooren of Sparks, Nevada, nieces Sandra, Cynthia Minor, nephew Eugene Minor of Brentwood, New York. Services for Alice are at 10 AM on October 27, 2014 at Mountain View Mortuary and Mountain View Cemetery.
