CURTIS

Arthur “Warren“ Curtis was born November 25, 1914 in Harbor Creek, Pennsylvania to Arthur A. and Iva Ghee McGregor Curtis. He was the second of four children; sisters, Montrose and Jean and brother, Grant.

Warren graduated from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio in 1936 where he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau. It was there that he met the love of his life and wife of 72 years, Mary. They ventured to California in 1941 to seek their fortunes.

A great man of wisdom, Warren will be remembered by his wife, Mary; daughter, Barbara Butlin (Jack); son, Craig Curtis (Cheri); grand- children, Scott Curtis (Jennie), Joy Olivier, Brad Butlin (Becky); great- grandchildren, Brevin Curtis, Jayden Butlin and many friends for his unconditional love.

He had a great sense of humor and never met “a stranger“. Warren was a master story teller- entertaining anyone who would listen. Warren traveled the world with Mary, his family and friends, delighting in each new experience. He served as president of Rotary, Worthy Patron of Eastern Star and was a member of the Masons and Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed square dancing, golf, and volunteered at the Pioneer Theater in Reno, Nevada until he was 93. We will miss the sparkle of his bright blue eyes and his loving hugs.

Memorial Service will be held February 20, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Danville, CA.

Warren was a truly good and wonderful person. We miss his innate ability to enjoy the world, and the people around him each and every day. Along with his wife Mary, they were the best of neighbors, and gave the neighborhood class and charm. Warrens laughter, interest in others, and playfulness is sorely missed, but forever remembered.

My sincere condolences to your family for the loss of your beloved father. He was a man filled with love and wisdom. Although you will miss his presence, he has left you with many memories to be savored as well as his love to guide your life. You must know that he took with him memories of you as well, among them those joys from watching all of you grow into powerful people with numerous accomplishments. Grieve for him, as grieve you must, then let your grief become comforted that one day you will be reunited.

You were such an amazing Grandfather. In a world, where we're rarely rewarded for doing it right... the only true thing we have is our legacy. Well Grandpa. You did it right. It's by your example that I raise my son, with unconditional love, unrestricted laughter, strength and honor.
