Bernard John Lutterman, 75, of Reno, Nevada, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2014, surrounded by his dear friends and family.

Barney was extremely loving and proud of his family and friends. He is survived by his daughter, Carrie Harrison (Eric); step-sons, Mark (Donna) and Mike Hastings; brother, Jerry Lutterman (Jan); Barney's partner in life, JoAnn Luiz; honorary son, Dan Lutterman; his adoring grandchildren, Robbie, Rylee, Kathleen, Jordan, Kimmie and Connie; as well as his many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Barney was a passionate man who loved hunting, camping, fishing, woodworking and exploring. He always gave of himself and had true joy in helping others. All who know of Barney, Barnes, Barn, Lutterman, express what a true gentleman, hard worker, devoted father and grandfather, and friend he was. Barney was a lot of things to a lot of people, but to everyone a friend.

To the man, the legend, teacher, the best hunting and fishing partner, and daddy ~ "Happy trails to you until we meet again." With pure love, go rest high on that mountain.

There will be a visitation on Tuesday evening, April 15th, from 5 to 7 pm at Walton's Sierra Chapel, 875 West Second St., Reno. Barney's service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, also at Walton's, at High Noon. Interment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery, Reno. A reception will follow at a location to be announced at the service.
