Brad Crase Obituary

Brad K. Crase passed away on May 16, 2010 at Renown Regional Medical Center. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 4, 1939 in New York. He was an avid sports lover who played basketball, baseball and enjoyed coaching. He was a member of the Reno Elks Club, Reno Jaycee's, Reno Rodeo Association and the Reno Air Races.
He joined the Reno Police Department in 1967 where he served as a patrol office, motor officer, community services officer and detective. He retired in 1988 after suffering a stroke. Brad had a strong will to live and overcame many health obstacles throughout the years. He was never far away from a sports channel and a Pepsi.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Judy of 39 years, his sister Candace Mathis (Stan), his children Don
Depoali (Kelley), David Depoali, Robert Zumoff (Noelle), Kim Brokaw (Max), grandkids Alicia, Robert Mathew, Misty, Becky, Dylan, Matt, Kaela, Shanice, Cole and Callie as well as three great-grandchildren Frank, Jeremy and Kilee. Our family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. James Atcheson, Irina, Sam and Gigi Valeria, Gilbert, Renee and Nelson for their care and compassion throughout the years. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Walton's Sierra Chapel, 875 W. Second Street at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.

OK, you asked, so I will be the first of many to express a sadness for Brad's loss - he was a pillar of what the good life stood for in his Reno High - late 1950s - days; a good friend, whose easy nature and sense of humor followed him into adulthood, where he became a cop's cop. He'll be missed by most of my contemporaries, who I'm sure join me in offering condolences to his family. Karl Breckenridge Reno
