Darwin Thomas Obituary
Reno - Darwin Leland "Stubby" Thomas was born on August 31, 1959 in Schurz, Nevada.
Entered into eternal life February 03, 2021 at his residence on the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony in Reno, NV.
Leland is preceded in death by his father Harry Thomas Sr.; mother Margaret Thomas both of Reno, NV. Brother's Timothy Thomas and Harry Thomas Jr. both of Reno, NV.
Leland is survived by his wife Joanne Lenares-Thomas of Reno, NV, daughter's Anita Thomas, Jackie Thomas and Dana Thomas all of Reno, NV, son Jerod Thomas of La Crosse, WI, brother Ralph Thomas Sr. of Sparks, NV and sister Sharon Thomas of Reno, NV.
He had 16 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He attended Reed High School and graduated from Washoe High School. He had various jobs; the most recent was with the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Senior Center.
He loved watching his grandchildren play football, basketball and softball. He was a true San Francisco Giants/49er's fan. He enjoyed playing fast pitch and basketball, which he loved.
Darwin Leland "Stubby" Thomas was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
The family of Leland would like to give a big thank you to everyone for the love, comfort, support and prayers during this difficult time.
Viewing for the public will commence from 1:00pm to 3:30pm. A private service for immediate family from 4:00 to 5:00pm on Friday February 19, 2021 at Walton's Ross, Burke and Knobel Funeral Home 2155 Kietzke Lane Reno, Nevada 89502. Covid-19 Restrictions apply, mandatory masks, social distancing.

My “brother” I miss you already. My life is truly blessed to have had you in it in this world. I know our paths will cross again and i will hug you again. You and I were friends the moment we met and spent many adventures together. For trips rabbit hunting, deer hunting, fishing, New Years eves. Cruising and 4 wheeling listening to zeppelin skynard and many more. You were the best man at my wedding (twice) we talked about important things in life many times. I stood by you when you lost your father, Timmie and Harry we had our first born within a month of each other. Then went on to play many basketball and softball games and tourneys together as Reno Indians. The memories I will cherish and love continue on.
