Emily Bianco Obituary

Emily Damonte

BIANCO

Our loving Mom, Nonnie and Ai Emi passed away on January 16, 2009 at 91. Her love for her family and friends will always remain in our hearts. She always said,“ be good to one another, we're all family.“ Life long Nevadan, Emily was born on July 25, 1917 to Louis and Louise (Anselmo) Damonte on the Capurro Ranch on Longley Lane. She attended Glendale Grammar School and gradu- ated from Reno High School. She worked at Bessie's Beauty Shop as a beautician until she married U.J. 'Bud' Bianco on May 1, 1938. They had three children, daughter, Barbara and sons, Michael and David. She and Bud raised alfalfa, potatoes and garlic seed on their farm on Geiger Grade Road until Bud's death in 1980.

Emily's life has always been full and busy. She started the First Mothers Club at Brown Elementary School (a one room school house) in 1946 and was active in the Parents Club at Manogue High School. She was a 4-H leader and helped raise money to establish the first volunteer fire department in the south Truckee Meadows. She was an active member of the Family Club, Extension Homemakers and Washoe Co. Farm Bureau. Her pride and joy was her yard. She loved to plant flowers.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bud; sons, Michael and David who both died in their infancy; brother, Ben Damonte and sister, Gladys Curti. She is survived by her sister, Cecile Caramella; daughter, Barbara and son-in-law, Harold Curti; grandchildren, Hal (Penni Stone) Curti, Renee (Woody) Miller and Mike (Judy Crowdis) Curti; great-grandchildren, Jessica and Matt Curti, Drew, Tony, Sean and Shayla Miller, Kymberlee and Nico Curti and many nieces and nephews.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Walton's Sierra Chapel, 875 W. Second St, Reno. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2009 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Emily's name to St. Mary's Hospice at 520 W. 6th St., Reno, NV 89503.

We are so sorry for the loss of Emily. We know it is never easy to to lose anyone, however when they are as special as she was it is even harder. I know that she had her health issues especially the last few years, thank goodness she is no longer in pain. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers. God bless each of you during this time.
