Gregory Jentink Obituary
Gregory J Jentink, age 59, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2020, at his home after a two-year fight with ALS. Greg was born in Glendale, California to Bonnie and Glen on November 14, 1960. He joined the Marine Corps in 1978 and enjoyed travelling overseas.
Greg moved to Reno where he could be closer to family and would soon meet the woman he would spend the rest of his life with. He worked for Save Mart for 25 years before returning to a long-time passion of driving truck, and thus began working for Truckee Sourdough. After work, Greg would be found donating food to help feed the homeless. On his days off, you could find Greg out on the lake with his wife and grandkids during a long week away at his favorite camping spot. One of his favorite pastimes was watching documentaries on historical events and feeding the Koi fish in the pond he built with his own two hands. If you ever needed a weather update, Greg was the man to ask! He loved watching all things weather-related, from the local weather report to shows about natural disasters. Greg's proudest title of all was "grandpa" and loved taking the grandkids across the country to see waterfalls and volcanoes.
Greg is preceded in death by his father, Glen; Brothers Gary and Jim. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Kricket; Mother, Bonnie; Sister, Karen; Daughters, Amber (Tyrell), Kara (Jon), Sara (Matt), Cali (Phill); Son, Kyle (Hannah); Grandsons Waylon, Eli, William; Granddaughters Ashlon, Richelle, Emma, Rose, and many more family and friends he was so blessed with in his life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the local ALS chapter in honor of Greg.
