Heather Prosser-Starr Obituary

Heather Danae Prosser Starr

Our beautiful daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, friend, and mother Heather Danae Prosser Starr, 25, was taken from us on September 19, 2011. Heatherdoll was born July 8, 1986 in Fayetteville, NC. At 9 months of age, she moved to Manteca, CA with her loving mother Sherry. When she was 9 years old, she welcomed her younger sister Taylor into the family. She graduated from East Union High School in 2004 where she played soccer, volleyball, and cheerleading. Heather then attended the University of Nevada, Reno where she studied Criminal Justice and received her bachelor's degree in 2009.

Heather will always be remembered for her saucy personality, high energy, her amazing smile, and ability to light up a room as soon as she walked in. She was a great leader and her outgoing personality allowed her to strike up a conversation with anyone about anything. Heather's passions included the ocean, snowboarding, dancing, shopping, Disneyland, the SF Giants, and just like any girl - yearly trips to Nascar races. But above all, Heather valued her family and would have done anything for them, especially her baby boy Ethan. She lived life the fullest and took advantage of every opportunity she had.

While at UNR, Heather met the love of her life, Jason Michael Starr. The two quickly established a passionate relationship. On April 15, 2010, Heather and Jason were blessed with a beautiful baby boy, Ethan Alexander David Starr. Ethan exemplifies the best of both worlds; the strong willed tenacity of his mother, the ardent passion of his father, and the intelligence and good looks of both.

Heather is survived by her best friend and mother, Sherry Prosser; fiancée Jason Starr; son, Ethan Starr; sister, Taylor Prosser; grandparents Kelly and Darlene Griffith; grandfather Leonard Rieb, great-great grandma Emma Rieb, aunt and uncle Lenny and Teresa Rieb, aunt, Tammy Trukki; cousins Jaycee Rieb, Richard and Robert Milby; and parents in law, Janet DeWitt, Chris DeWitt and Gary Starr, and sister and brother in law, Jessica and Ryan Starr.

A celebration of life will be held in Heather's honor at Portola Baptist Church in Portola, CA, Thursday September 22nd, 2011 at 1pm. A reception will follow at Longboards bar and grill in Graeagle, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to trust funds set up for her 17-month-old son, Ethan. The locations include Plumas Bank in Portola, CA at 120 N. Pine St. Portola, CA 96122 and any Bank of America branch in Reno, NV.

I still can't believe Heather is gone. I send everyone whose lives she touched a bit of love today. I'll never forget working with and getting to know her at Somersett Golf Club. She was an extraordinary person, and I liked her immediately. I'm honored to remember her.

My beautiful Heather Doll. It's been 8 years today since you were so tragically taken from us. My life would never be the same again. A piece of my heart is in heaven with my beautiful angel. My Beautiful Heather Doll
Today is your 28th birthday. As I am sitting here writing this message to you my mind is flooded with all of my amazing memories of you. The day you were born was one of the greatest days of my life. I watched you grow up and become such a beautiful amazing young woman and mother. I am so proud of you! I know you would be so proud of your sister as she's getting ready to start college and Jason is going to be graduating from nursing school next month. He's an amazing dad to your precious Ethan Alexander. Your lil man is growing up so fast, he reminds me so
much of his momma. I know that you are watching over him and all of us. There will never enough words to tell you how much I miss you or how my heart aches for you. I wish I could have just one more minute, hour, day with you, just to hug you and tell you how much I love you my beautiful Heather Doll. My only comfort is knowing I will see you and hold you again someday. I hope you have a wonderful birthday in heaven. I will see you again my girl. I love you with all my heart and soul.

Heather, the world has become so much more dim without you in it. A bit less bright without your smile. A bit less funny without your One of a kind humor, & significantly less sweet without your laugh.

September 19, 2012

1 year ago today.....Words cannot describe the pain of losing a best friend. She was always there, no matter what!  She had a way of turning my tragedies into comedies just so i can have a quick moment of relief and smile, was never too busy to listen, and would gladly give the shirt off her back if I really needed it. She helped me through some of the worst times in my life. Not a Single day...or hour... goes by that I don't miss her, wish I could call/text her.  I miss our ridiculous talks, our vent sessions, and even our serious talks. I miss the random 5am conversations cuz we just happened to be awake. Heather, you are one special person. One of a kind.  I never imagined I'd have to go through the rest of my life without you being there.  It hurts everyday.  I promise to always be there for your family. They're stuck with Amanda and I whether they like it or not now. ?  You will forever be my best friend and have a huge permanent place in my heart. Until we meet again Hooker!

I just learned of this unbelievable tragedy.
My memories of you will always be of a playful little girl. It never ceases to amaze me of the cruelty and unfairness life shows us at times. And yet other times how beautiful it can be. I will remember the beautiful times I knew you and let this cruel and unfair one fade.

Love,
Shaun Yandell

I don't want to believe it...Six months...I still go to call and text you on almost a daily basis. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you and miss you. You were one of a kind. I wish I could just pick up the phone and have one of our pointless/ridiculous talks that always turned serious for some reason. Lol. All I want to do is cry, but I know you'd be the 1st to tell me to suck it up and be strong. You are missed more than anyone will ever be able to put into words. I hope you knew how much you meant to everyone. Life will never be the same...you will always be my best friend. Love you/Miss you everyday Hooker. :)

I'm very saddened to hear of Heather's passing. I first remember meeting her while I was working up at Somersett Golf Club and she was the beer cart girl. I liked her immediately. In addition to just being an outgoing friendly person to talk to, she was hilarious and always had me cracking up. Although we hadn't talked in a few years, I heard she had her baby boy and remember thinking 'she would be a great mom', and from what I hear, she was. My most heartfelt sympathies go out to Heather's friends, family, and loved ones. We lost someone very special and she was taken far too soon. Thanks for the memories Heather, you will be missed. Till we meet again….

Heady!! You were one of my best friends from the moment I met you in the dorms our freshman year. You were the 6th floor coordinator: what time we were all eating dinner, what parties were going to be good, what music we all should listen to, and what outfits we needed to get rid of for good. lol. I cant listen to Country music without thinking of your smile. I cherished each moment with you and your family and soon started to feel like I was a part of your amazing family. You are such a beautiful woman and an even more beautiful mother. I wish we had more trips together like when you took me to Las Vegas for my 21st birthday... I have never had so much fun with just one person and will never forget your voice, your smile or your laugh. I will love Ethan like you would have wanted and be a big sister to Taylor. I will spend time with your mom and decorate cookies for Valentines Day like we did that one year. I still cant believe you have left us and gone to Heaven but I know you are happy up there and am smiling down on us all. I love you Heather, so much! Thank you for being in my life, I will never forget you :) Love Jo

Miss Heather-
When I think of the Reno Rodeo or hear (every! single! time!) 'SexyBack' by Justin Timberlake, I think of you. And your goofy, happy, contagious smile.
You are externally, and internally, gorgeous.
I can only imagine your little man has the same charisma, charm, and infectious personality as his mother.

Jason was my first friend, my best friend, and will be my last friend... and I've never seen him love anything the way he loves you and Ethan. Not even close. You changed that boy for the better in so many ways. He is a better, stronger, more responsible man and your the reason why. I love you Heather. You gave my family, your family, and everyone in between the best gift possible; a perfect baby boy who gives us all a reason to get up in the morning. I miss you Heather. Keep a close eye on all of us, we're gonna need it. See you soon enough. Love you.

I did not know her on a personal level as many of you do, but I do remember her dancing at Manteca Assembly of God and from the youth group services. She has an amazing family there!
I do have one memory, I had just come back from Germany and not even knowing of her back then, during a youth service, she came up to me out of the blue and told me I was beautiful.
Prayers of peace and comfort for the family.

I had the privilege of knowing Heather since she was a little kid and watching her grow up into a beautiful woman and mom. Heather and I were the "Jolly Green Giant Twins" while we danced together and I will never forget all of the amazing and heart-wrenching experiences we shared. She was a friend who was always there for you and would go to bat for you in a heartbeat. My prayers of peace and comfort go out to her family and friends. Thankful for the opportunity to have known Heather when she grew up in Manteca. Coming to Our home when Our daughter Sandee Liles King babysat. I remember her energy, smile, and giving nature. I also am PROUD to know her Father-Stacy Prosser, Her Grandparents Bob and Sandy Prosser from Manteca. Heather BLESSED many from Pre-school/Manteca Christian School .....just a awesome person!!!! GOD's Grace and Covering over Jason and little Ethan, her Mom, and Taylor, and Family.

September 22, 2011

I can never begin to express how much Heather meant to Jason, but one thing I can say for sure is she meant the world to everyone, so to say she will be missed is an under statement. She was a bright smile, a gentle laugh, a warm hug, a shoulder to lean on when weak, and someone to help you celebrate at times of being strong! She was an all around top notch woman, and to see her go so soon is showing that God truly had a purpose for her on this earth, and now that he has taken her from us, I know he has sent her to watch over and protect each and everyone she loves! My heart goes out, to Jason, Ethan, and family...I will not be present today, but I will be in spirits! With all my love

My heart goes out to all who knew and Loved Heather. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with her for a short time for only a few months at Knight Transportation. And, though I did know her all that well, she was always kind and a friend to me, as she was to almost everyone she came in contact with. To say Heather was outgoing is a huge understatement and doesn't serve her justice, Heather was way beyond outgoing, She had a magical ability in her laughter that was so overwhelming and contagious it always rubbed off on whoever
she came in contact with. On a daily basis she would have the whole office in stitches, Rollin around on the the floor, bustin a gut laughing.Heather was an absolute riot. And at times she didn't seem to need anyone to have fun and if she wanted, sometimes she would let loose with that obnoctios laugh and crack
herself up,followed by every one else she drew in to her serious fun.
Heather was what you would call, "The life of the party"
The day she cleaned her desk out and quit Knight nothing has been the same. Kind of like a dark cloud fell over the place. we all wished she would change her mind and come back.
Heather surely was a Livewire, and she has been and will be missed. She was a very sweet and kind young lady.
To all her best friends, Sorry you have lost such a wonderful friend.
And to the mother Sherry,And kid Sister Tayler, please accept my deepest and warmest condolences. And even though I don't know you, I too have a daughter that is 25 and another one that's 19 yrs old, and can only imagine this unfortunate tragic loss and how you might feel. I just want to say Heather was a truely remarkable and sweet young lady and that she left a unforgettable impression on me forever.
To Jason I express much sympathy about your beautiful bride, hope life treats you better. Take care of Ethan, and hang tuff.
To all the other family I just want to say,
Heather sure was a nice person, So sorry she had to go, sincerely,
May the good Lord keep her soul.

Rest iIn Peace Heather, miss ya
