Sparks - June 29, 1951

James (Jim) Keith Ohl passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Sparks on December 9, 2017. Jim was born on June 29, 1951 to Mary E. and Bud Roy Ohl. Jim graduated from Wooster High School and attended the University of Nevada Reno. He also served in the Nevada Air Guard as a parachute rigger. Jim worked for Nevada Bell as an installer for 30 years. After retiring from the phone company, he worked with D & D Overhead Doors as a garage door installer for 10 years.
Jim attended the Holy Cross Catholic Community and volunteered for Hot August Nights for 17 years. Jim owned two classic vehicles and was always showing them at car shows and Hot August Nights events. Everyone remembers his yellow 1931 Model A pick-up called "LMNADE". Jim participated in local long distance running events and often placed in the top three places for his age group.
Jim is survived by his wife of 28 years Jeanne Ohl, daughters, Amber (Ajay) Keller and Chrissy Ohl both of Sparks, NV, step-children Jim (Kelly) Anderson of Africa, Kristin (Mike) Lindquist of Sparks, NV., grandchildren, Booke Anderson, Brady and Aubrey Lindquist, siblings Alice Threet of Las Vegas, NV and Jane (Denny) Graham of St. Peters, Mo. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Sunday December 17, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the West 2nd Events Center 600 West 2nd Street. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to the Nevada Humane Society, 2825 Longley Ln. Reno, NV 89502.

My sincerest condolences to Jeanne and family. I am stunned. What a great friend and I will so miss his humor and wonderful entries on Facebook that we shared with each other. Seeing him at our high school class reunions with Jeanne was always very special.
