Julia Larsen Obituary

Julia Ann Larsen

Reno - A beautiful soul has quietly left this earth for her final resting place. On April 25th, two days before her 56th birthday, Julia Ann Larsen passed away peacefully at her home after a hard fought battle with liver disease. She was embraced by her loving family.

Julie was born April 27th 1962 in Worland, Wyoming, the daughter of Barbara and Duane Scholes. She was raised in a loving home by hard working, Christian parents that would instill values that would define Julie throughout her life. She graduated from Worland High School in 1980 and attended Chadron State College, and the University of Wyoming where she attained her Pharmacy Degree in 1988. She also completed her MBA from the University of Phoenix. She and her husband Tom Larsen made the move from their beloved Wyoming to Reno, Nevada where she was recruited for her first pharmacy position with TPN of Reno. She established her reputation as a hardworking, highly skilled and professional practitioner, managing many different types of pharmacies including Walgreens, Sierra Family Pharmacy, and Renown Medical Center. She enjoyed the tight knit family of pharmacists she had the pleasure of working with throughout her career, acquiring many lifelong friendships that she cherished.

Julie's family was the main focus of her life. She and her husband Tom raised three wonderful sons, Quinn, Bryce and Brett that brought her countless joy and happiness. She loved taking them on vacations to Disneyland, Hawaii, camping, fishing, skiing and trips to Wyoming and Arizona to visit Grandparents and family. She was a dedicated fan of her son's many childhood activities including school and church programs, football, basketball and baseball games where she enjoyed helping out in the snack bars, making wonderful lifelong friends along the way. She supported her family tirelessly, sacrificing and working extra hard to see that all of their needs were met. She was especially pleased by the mother/girlfriend relationship with Eryn and Jamie that she was able to enjoy amidst a predominantly male family.

She is survived by her husband Tom Larsen, sons Quinn, Bryce and Brett of Reno, Mother Barbara Scholes and brother Marty (Jaymie) of Casa Grande, AZ, sister Gina Porter (Steve) of Plano, Texas, in-laws Leonard and Frances Larsen, sister's in law Christie St Clair (Mike), and Caroline Greim all of Worland, Wyoming and many incredible nieces, nephews, grand nephews, and dear friend, Jon Price.

Funeral services will be held at Hope Community Church at 4 P.M.

755 Trademark Drive, Reno, NV.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sunshine Preschool at the Hope Community Church.
