Keith Wilson Obituary

Keith Wilson

Reno - Keith Eugene Wilson died October 6, 2018 at Renown Medical Center from AML (leukemia). Keith was born April 22, 1955 at Fort Lewis, Washington. He attended local Sparks schools: Alice Maxwell, Sparks Junior (now Middle) School and graduated from Sparks High School in 1973.

Always fascinated by big rig trucks passed while on family vacations, he became a driver for Logan Lumber, Berry-Hinckley and most recently Reddaway, until his illness. He amassed more than than 40 years in the industry and thus traveled most of the lower 48 states.

Keith was a baseball aficionado. He played Sparks Little League and then coached Washoe Little League for his nephews and then his grandsons. He was affectionately known by family as "Mr. Baseball ".

An avid reader, his passion for history was insatiable. He specifically was knowledgeable and enjoyed the history of the Civil War, but also could cite battles and soldiers from WW1.

Preceded in death by father Laron V. Wilson, mother Mary J. Crosley, sister, Susan L. Wallace, a niece and nephew. He is survived by his daughter, Christine (Milan) Anderson, 4 grandchildren, Mercedes, Leland, Nick and Darian Anderson of Reno. Keith is also survived by one brother, Laron (Jan) Wilson of Baltimore, Maryland, and 2 sisters, Karen (John) Rand and Emily (Marv) Zunino of Reno, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A simple local service will be held October 15, 2018 at Walton's Funeral Home 875 W. 2nd St. Reno at 3:00 p.m.

I just read and I am so sorry.
Though we parted ways many years ago, we grew up like brothers and have great memories.

Keith and I were close as brothers should be. We shared a bedroom since the moment he left the bassinet and played together throughout our childhood - we were close in age and my friends were his and his friend were mine. We shared adventures camping and hiking and fishing the Sierra Nevada forests with Dave Roberts and Terry Barrette. Keith was always intrigued with the American Civil War and as an adult he read book after book about the Civil War. He visited us once in Baltimore and I took him to Gettysburg. As we visited the battlefield - McPhereson's ridge, Devil's den, the wheat field, the peach orchard, little Round Top, all the different locations over the 3 day battle, Keith would stand in awe and then he would proceed to tell you all the details of that skirmish. WOW! I'll miss you Keith, God's speed brother.
