Loree Mann Obituary

Loree Ann

MANN

Loree Mann died Monday, September 28, 2009 at the age of 90, after an 8 year courageous struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. Loree was born in 1919 in Chicago, IL to Helen and Stanley Frankiewicz. She graduated from Lindbloom High School, and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago before she married the love of her life, Dr. Raymond John Mann.

Loree and Ray moved to Oregon, IL in 1947, where he established a medical clinic and she excelled at raising her family and nurturing her artistic gifts. In 1970, they moved to Reno, where Dr. Mann became Chief of Emergency at Washoe Medical, later establishing a longtime private practice. Loree was a volunteer with the Ronald McDonald House Charities and Boy Scouts of America, and was a member of the Catholic Church. She became an award winning miniaturist, decorated her home to the hilt for every occasion, and constantly created personal gifts for all of her beloved family. Her love of her family and all things artistic was her lifelong passion. Her marvelous sense of humor, her elegance, her wonderful outlook on life, and her loving nature were a treasure to all who knew her, and remained with her until the end.

"Mousi" leaves behind her four children: Pamela Mann Mutton of Rockford, IL, Andrea (Stephen) Carponelli of Barrington Hills, IL, and Ray/"Chip" (Ellen) Mann and Jeffrey (Lourdes) Mann, of Reno; 10 grandchildren: Jon (Beth Weedman) Mutton, Jamie (Matt) Goebel, Scott (Valerie) Mutton, Lisa (Michael) Lovell, Ross (Molly) Carponelli, Jackie and Ray Mann, Clay and Keith Lancaster, Elitania Ordaz; and Michael Shockley; eight great grandchil- dren: Alexandra (Jesse) Fox, Danielle, Chelsea and Zachary Mutton, and Samuel and Emma Goebel, Reese and Colette Lovell; and great-great granddaughter Eiley Fox.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Ron Hicks, The Court at Reno, Vista Care Hospice, and their wonderful staffs, for the loving care they provided to Loree over the years.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 3rd at Ross Burke & Knobel, 2155 Kietzke Lane, followed by internment at Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 1301 Cordone Ave, Ste 180, Reno, NV 89502. We were so honored to have this beautiful woman as our mother.

Dear Pam, Andy, Chip and Jeff,

We just got the news about Aunt Loree today. What a wonderful woman she was and ... my favorite aunt, caring and fun to be with. I'll always remember the summer vacation we spent at your house in Oregon and how glad we were to see both Aunt Loree and Uncle Ray at Mom & Dads 50th anniversary party in Atlanta. I'll forever picture her at your house on the couch listening and laughing with me.

Our thoughts are with you all.
