Lorna Troesh Obituary

Lorna Troesh, age 84, passed away on January 13, 2011 in Winchester, VA. She was born on August 7, 1926 in Bakersfield California, the seventh child of Garnett and Agnes Otto. She is survived by her children Jack, David, Ginger, Jim, Ken, eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, her brother Robert Ancil Otto and sister Margaret Eunice Nunn.

She married her high school sweetheart, Raymond (Bud) Oliver Troesh in 1943. They lived in Whittier for nearly all of their 52 year marriage. While raising five very active children, she worked at a variety of jobs where she enjoyed meeting and talking to people. Her passion was doing volunteer work at St. Gregory the Great Church where she started the Annettes. She traveled to various churches throughout the area setting up cooperative programs where parishioners helped each other in times of family need.

She enjoyed traveling and in 2000 took a cruise to Alaska where she met Jerry Hyde. They married in 2001 and moved to Reno. They spent much of their time visiting family across the country including another romantic trip back to Alaska. They were both deeply devoted to God and took turns reading the Bible to each other. Lorna summed up her time here saying "I had a really great life."

The funeral will be held on Saturday January 29th at Queen of Angels Cemetery in Roland Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at www.cff.org.
