Lothar Schuler was born on 06-14-1940 in Karlsruhe, Germany. He lived there for 16 years before moving to Canada with his brother and then eventually moving to the USA. While in the Bronx, New York, Lothar was drafted into the US Army where he spent the next 6 years serving his new country. Lothar enjoyed serving in the US military and spoke of it often. After being honorably retired from the Army, Lothar married and had 2 sons. He had a brilliant mind, a compassionate heart and lived enough life to fill 2 lifetimes. Lothar traveled and moved to Oregon while raising his sons. Eventually he moved his family to Stead Air Force base to assist in engineering the first Lear Jet. After the successful maiden flight of the Lear Jet, he worked at IGT, where he eventually retired after 25 years. During his life, Lothar was an accomplished singer/songwriter.
In 1976 he released his first album entitled "Just For You". Through the years his love for music never waned as he enjoyed playing guitar, writing and singing songs for many people. He loved, laughed, cried and lived a great life until he unexpectedly passed away in Reno at Renown Medical Center on Friday 07-25-2014.

Lothar is survived by his wife Diana, sister Beatte, brother Manfred, children Michael, Mark, Sherrie and their spouses, grandchildren MJ, Brandon, Isaac, Aaron, Haila, Faith, Phoenix, Anthony, Dillon, Daniel and numerous nephews and nieces.
A Memorial Service will be held in Fernley NV. at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery on 08-18-2014 at 11:00 am.

My sincerest condolences go out to Luke's Family. I have many memories of Luke; he was a wonderful man. He had a way of touching your heart. He was filled with stories, laughter and care. I was Luke's Manager for 13 years (@IGT) and he exemplified hard work and loyalty. You will be missed by all who knew you Luke- I know I'll think about you and the memories we had!!!

I just saw this and my heart is saddened. Luke was a great man and friend to all. He and I worked together at IGT for 19 years until I retired in 2005. We had a lot of good times together. My heart goes out to Diana and his children. My condolences to you all. You will be missed Lukey!
