Meghan Lyn Atkinson, 33, passed away unexpectedly in a tragic accident on September 29, 2020.
She is survived by her mother Susan Atkinson, father Steven (Janet) Atkinson, grandparents Edward & Patricia Chase, grandparents Bob & Helen Atkinson, sister Sarah Atkinson and brother Michael Atkinson.
She is also survived by a very large extended family in Massachusetts along with family in Minnesota and Idaho.
Our Meghan was loving, intelligent, funny and very head-strong. Meghan encountered many struggles in life but found solace in the little town of Gerlach Nevada where she was residing at the time of her death. The quiet, the stars, and the beautiful sunsets lifted her spirits and helped her reconnect to her artistic side. She became motivated to follow through with her education earning an Associates of Science Degree. Then continued, completing a course in solar energy. Meghan was lucky to have been employed by Jason Walters who became a friend, mentor and father figure.
She will be dearly missed.

I was saddened to hear about Meghan's sudden and untimely death. I have good memories of Meghan in my String Orchestra classes at Maxwell E.S. & Sparks M.S. Meghan was a very nice young lady and was a pleasure to have in my class. I am so sorry for your loss.

I was gifted to know Meghan here in Gerlach, gifted to see her smile, spirit and art. I will miss the color she brought here. May her new path be filled with laughter, light and peace.

To Sue , Steve, Michael, and Sarah, my heart is heavy with sadness as I cant imagine how you all feel. Although we are far away you are always in our hearts. I will never forget when you brought her home and how special she was to many. I pray she rests in peace. God bless you all and I love you all very much.
