Michael Fromhart Obituary

Michael Victor Fromhart

Michael V. Fromhart was born on July 6th, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan to Victor and Dorothy Fromhart. He passed away May 6th, 2020 at Renown Hospital in Reno, Nevada.

Mike was raised in both Michigan and Florida where he attended the University of Florida receiving his PHD in Psychology.

He moved to Reno in 1972 where he had a private practice in Psychology and later worked for the State of Nevada. He valued the work he did with his patients some of whom saw him as a healer.

Mike was a lover of the arts and culture. He was a classical music afficiando and an avid reader. Loving to travel and explore, he spent the latter half of his life traveling to Nepal almost annually. He deeply enjoyed a good cup of coffee, an aromatic Indian dish and a long drive on an open road. Mike was a seeker who strived earnestly to find meaning in the absurdity of life. He met life with humor and openness and everyone who met him was charmed.

He will be missed dearly by his family. May the universe welcome him into its embrace.

He is survived by his younger brother Anthony, his two daughters Kristin and Kara, his nephew Daniel and his grandson Wyatt. The family is very grateful for the excellent care he received at Renown before his passing.

My deepest condolences to his family and all who loved Mikey.

If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.

My Dearest Michael, I met you in the 90's working with the State, we were very close colleagues. I loved you as a professional and friend. I kept in touch over the years, this world seemed to challenge you in the craziness, you chose to hang out on the cliff. You were never the same after working with Youth Services, & you and I knew the loss you felt of your family. I always related to you, " Mike, you carry to much damn guilt born and raised Catholic"... I have searched for you over the years, found what I believe may have been you on internet bio, self described " The wonderer". I loved you Mike for who you were, no judgement, and you knew this. I knew how deeply you loved your children. I only wish life could have been easier for you. As you always said to me Mike, " Debbie, the deeper our restless soul, the deeper our pain in which we reside". You were brilliant, ahead of your time.
I won't sound shallow and say "rest in peace", I will say, I hope to sit on that river with you one day, in "Heaven" and have some red wine! I love you Mike, the world has lost a deep, soul, searching, human being. Yes, I will say it Mike, you laugh, but, God Bless you my dear friend, and colleague.

I have such wonderful memories of working with Mike when he started as a contractor. Over the years, we would catch up. I was always struck by his peaceful soul and love for his family.
